I'm Voting for Better Sleep

In preparation for next week's elections, we're reposting an article from the 2020 election season.  Unfortunately, we still might need more sleep to get through the craziness of this election cycle.  Enjoy, and sleep well!

Here’s a fun fact if your candidate doesn’t win next week: if you increased the amount you slept each night by just two hours, and consistently maintained that level for the entirety of the next four years, you’d sleep through approximately 122 extra days of their term.  That might not be enough to help lesson the political blow for you, but the impact it can have on you, your energy, health and mental acuity over that time period may just be what our society needs to keep things together.    

And that’s why I’ve got the perfect write-in candidate for you: sleep. 

Let’s face it: this year had been really hard on too many levels to count.  The stress, uncertainty, changing expectations of when “normal” returns again (whatever that means) and now an election that is upon us, it’s been a really hard year.  How has all of this impacted your sleep?  Probably quite a bit: According to the American Psychological Associations Stress in America survey this month, nearly 70% of all Americans say this election is getting to them and stressing them out.
