Spring means flower buds, grasses, blooming trees and pollen— and if you're one of the millions of people who have seasonal pollen season woes, it also means sneezing, congestion, a runny nose and other bothersome symptoms. Spring pollen season can make you miserable as these allergens send the body’s immune system into overdrive.
DAO Labs Immunity Support is centuries in the making, and through the power of Traditional Chinese Medicine can strengthen your immune system against airborne, seasonal and environmental invasions. One of the most popular formulas across Asia, it’s the go-to for cold and pollen seasons, or to boost the immune system.
The Herbs in Immunity Support: Yu Ping Feng San
Our centuries old formula includes Astragalus, Atractylodes and Siler Root which help to replenish and strengthen Qi, promote immune activity in the body and activate exterior defenses. All of this results in a form of immunity boosting activity that I've recommended to my aging parents, my friends, and broader community.
The Flavors Behind Immunity Support
"East meets West" as I carefully selected Western flavors to align with the efficacy of the Eastern herbs. Traditionally, Chinese herbs are incredibly effective but also complex to consume from an unfamiliar, untrained western palette. I've attempted to addressed this by flavoring the formula with Pear, Ginger, Rosemary and Honey.
These flavors were selected not just because they pair nicely with the flavors of the herbs, but because from a Western perspective, they also help with the bothersome side effects that accompany pollen season.
- Pears originated in China and apart from being a flavorful addition, they are rich in antioxidants and Vitamin C which provides benefits to the immune system.
- Ginger has been found to help balance the immune system to restore it to proper functioning and enhance the protective functions of the immune system.
- Honey acts as a medium for transmitting the benefits of ginger to the body and may also boost the body’s immune system by aiding in the production of white blood cells.
- Rosemary’s active components are antioxidant compounds that help make a secondary line of defense behind the body’s own immune system.
Traditional Chinese Medicine is powerful, but it’s also complex and in most cases, not familiar to western taste styles and flavors. Manny herbs can be bitter, which if you're like us who consume the herbs regularly in their raw form actually tastes quite good - but if you're new to this beautiful modality, it can take some time to acclimate to the experience.
We account for these flavors by adding elements that enhance the overall experience. To be sure, our hope is to get you asking "what else can Traditional Chinese herbs do?" The answer - a lot.
I hope your seasonal allergies are not that bothersome this year, but if they are, try our Immunity Support, I think you will be pleasantly surprised and please leave your feedback and feel free to ask any questions by sending us a note at Hello@mydaolabs.com.
