WHY AREN'T YOU SLEEPING?
Answer These 8 Questions, Send Us a Picture of Your Tongue (Seriously), & We'll Tell You Why
Don’t Let 2 AM Stress or Restlessness Deprive You of a Good Night's Sleep.
There's never been a more critical time to focus on improving your sleep. Study after study shows the negative effects chronic bad sleep and stress have on immunity. If you've tried everything under the sun to help you sleep better, you may be wondering - how can your tongue help us find the right sleep solution for you? From its color to its shape and coating, your tongue is the only muscle in your body that we can see, and to an acupuncturist, it’s an entry point into your overall health.
Chinese herbal medicine helps deliver uninterrupted, quality sleep by correcting imbalances that cause poor sleep rather than sedating the body. Because they address the root of the problem, they generally treat more than just inconsistent sleep. During your initial consultation with an acupuncturist, you would be asked a series of questions - we’ve summarized a handful of these below. These questions may seem irrelevant, but knowing the answers will help our team of acupuncturists understand any significant internal imbalances and give clues to discerning the root cause of the problem that is leading to your sleepless nights.
And then of course, the puzzle will be complete when we see a photo of your tongue!
Caring Information & Considerations
Although we can learn a lot about you from your tongue, it can’t tell us everything. A review of your tongue is just one of several things an acupuncturist would do during an appointment intake, in addition to feeling your pulse and having a discussion around your wellness patterns and goals. That said, it’s a good way for us to learn which formulas might be a fit for you.
If you’re interested in seeing an acupuncturist but don’t know how to get started, email us and we’ll be happy to send you some information, or connect you with one of the acupuncturists in our network.
Finally, we want you to know that while one of our acupuncturists will review the picture you send us, it will be kept strictly private and then immediately deleted. In addition, none of the recommendations are meant to convey medical advice or have been reviewed by the FDA and are not meant to treat, cure or mitigate any disease - just the heritage of 2,500 years of Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture.
